Kurt specializes in venture capital financing, mergers & acquisitions, and general corporate and business matters. He represents venture capital funds and other investors, as well as companies of all sizes and growth stages, from start-ups to public companies. With particular expertise in life sciences, healthcare and biotechnology, including genomics and medical devices, as well as broad experience in other industries including e-commerce, software and technology, Kurt provides expert advice in complex matters.

Kurt also assists founders, executives and high-net worth individuals with tax strategy, wealth transition, and business succession planning.

With experience both at major law firms and as a corporate executive, Kurt’s advice is practical and results-oriented. He was an attorney at the law firms of Gunderson Dettmer LLP and Luce Forward LLP, and was General Counsel at Human Longevity, Inc., a San Diego-based genomics company, where he was instrumental in raising over $400 million in venture capital.

Kurt completed his undergraduate studies in Philosophy at Loyola University Chicago, and law school at the University of Notre Dame where he was the Production Editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics and Public Policy.
