Nicole specializes in executive compensation, employment matters and trademark prosecution. She comes to Breakwater after 10 years with K&L Gates and Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP.

At Sheppard Mullin, her practice focused primarily in the executive compensation, trademark, corporate securities laws and corporate governance areas for both publicly traded (including RealD and Bridgepoint Education) and privately held companies (such as Marine Layer).  She prepared, negotiated and reviewed equity incentive, change of control, severance and bonus plans and employment agreements, along with proxy statements, prospectuses and other SEC filings. Her practice also included clearance and counseling on the adoption of trademarks, prosecution of trademark applications and enforcement of trademarks and trademark litigation.
Nicole started her legal career at K&L Gates as a litigator. She represented clients, including MTV and Nike, in their defense against employment-related claims and lawsuits. She was also very active with Public Counsel and enjoyed assisting families (pro bono) in the adoption of children who need loving homes.
Nicole graduated from UCLA in 1999 with a BA in Business Economics and a minor in Accounting and is an avid supporter of the Bruin’s football and basketball teams.  She graduated from UC Hastings School of Law in 2002 and is a member of the California State Bar and UCLA Alumni Association.
